Eh

Where have I been? I wish I knew. I like tequila. Looks good.

I've been writing for this website Evil Monito for a couple of weeks now. I just did a large piece on the Cheech and Chong show I saw recently. I won't tell you about it. Just go fucking read it.

Going up to Austin for SXSW tomorrow. Doing some interviews, bang chicks, pop morphine, mainline Shiner Bocks 100th anniversary beer (aptly titled THE COMMEMORATOR) straight into my veins. You know, that type of shit. If anyone reading this is going to be there hit me up. I'll show you what real Mexican food and/or BBQ is.

That is all for now. Be safe my people. And if you haven't seen Will Ferrell's George Bush thing yet you desperatly need to. He kind of killed the making fun of W thing for anyone and everyone because he straight dominated that shit. Fucking hilarious.

Brite the day

Hot Chip vs. Joy Division

I'm fucking lazy, so I'm just going to steal all this from Hot Chip's website.  I will even designate the stolen areas with italics.  Onward.

On February 16th/24th, War Child and their record label partners at Parlophone and Astralwerks will be releasing an amazing new collection of cover versions called "WAR CHILD presents HEROES", an album to benefit the WAR CHILD humanitarian organization. WAR CHILD is an award-winning charity that provides humanitarian assistance to war-affected children in some of the most devastated regions of the world.

War Child asked Joy Division to name a member of the current generation to cover their song "Transmission". They chose us and we are proud to announce this new version can now be heard on War Child's most ambitious album to date.....HEROES!

War Child protects children in war zones who have no one else to turn to. These children live in extreme poverty, where conflict has not only destroyed the bricks and mortar of their homes and schools — but has also torn apart the social fabric of the families and communities upon which these children depend. War Child believes it is unacceptable that the lives of children continue to be torn apart by war. Yet many of the people who die in conflict are children. War Child is working hard to protect these children and helping them to build themselves a more secure future.

War Child helps protect children by:

• reintegrating child soldiers with their families

• getting children off the streets, after war has forced them to leave home

• separating children from adults in prison

• rebuilding schools destroyed by war

• lobbying politicians to do more for children affected by war

• empowering the public to get involved

Here is the tracklisting

01. Beck (Bob Dylan - “Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat”)

02. The Kooks (The Kinks - “Victoria”)

03. The Hold Steady (Bruce Springsteen - “Atlantic City”)

04. Hot Chip (Joy Division - “Transmission”)

05. Lily Allen feat. Mick Jones (The Clash - “Straight To Hell”)

06. Yeah Yeah Yeahs (The Ramones - “Sheena Is A Punk Rocker”)

07. Franz Ferdinand (Blondie - “Call Me”)

08. Duffy (Paul McCartney - “Live And Let Die”)

09. Estelle (Stevie Wonder - “Superstition”)

10. Rufus Wainwright (Brian Wilson -” Wonderful & Song For Children”)

11. Scissor Sisters (Roxy Music - “Do The Strand”)

12. Peaches (Iggy Pop - “Search And Destroy”)

13. Adam Cohen (Leonard Cohen - “Take This Waltz”)

14. Elbow (U2 - “Running To Stand Still”)

15. The Like (Elvis Costello - “You Belong To Me”)

16. TV On The Radio (David Bowie - “Heroes”)

There's also an interview with Joy Division's Peter Hook where he discusses his enjoyment for Hot Chip.  Read Part 1 aqui.

Here is a link to another page of links that will take you to where you can buy the CD.  Or you can just go on itunes.

The end.

Titles With Puns

Kenny Mayne is a long time ESPN anchor.  He's been there since the days of Craig Kilborn and Keith Olbermann.  The real golden age of Sports Center.  In recent years ESPN has relegated him to much lesser roles and these types of one off videos yet he continues to be the best thing ESPN has going for it.  (Other than Van Pelt obviously).

He now has a web series called Mayne Street.  It is easily one of the best "web series" around.  Over the course of this next week I'm going to post a bunch of the episodes so you can join in on the hilarity.  I'll start you off with the profiles they did of each character.

Not only is Kenny Mayne in it but it also stars Ben Schwartz of Rejected Jokes fame.  As well, it stars Jon Glaser as the Video Cowboy.  You might not know his name but he was featured in Conan O'Brien skits for years and also made an appearance in the Comedians of Comedy film.  Comic Jordan Carlos is also in it.  (He's the black guy).  Alison Becker is in it as well.  She's been in other shit.  You'll probably recognize her.  She's a girl.

---------hold on my corn dogs are burning.
--------------------------------now my mouth is burning.  Ye of little patience.

And away we go...

Kenny Mayne - Sports Personality

Cameraman Bruce Reynolds  - The Video Cowboy Part 1

Cameraman Bruce Reynolds - The Video Cowboy Part 2

Jordan Henry - Production Assistant

Evan Mintz - The Boss

Sarah Morton - Producer

The episodes are truly amazing so I will treat you to those as the days go by.  I hope people actually watch them and realize how great Kenny Mayne is.  It's kind of like Darrell Hammond on SNL.  Most of the time you don't even realize he's there but he's been on the cast for at least 75 years.

It's cold out.  Don't forget the best way to stay warm is to get naked.  Also, getting X-rated doesn't hurt.

Thanksgiving. HOORAY!!!!!!!!

I had a great Thanksgiving break with my family in which much thanks was given.  It goes as follows:

My dad got it started off with some appetizers.  Oh shit dad -- you love meat and bread.  But what's with the veggies?  Snap.

Here's some more of the "fam."  Hey Grampa, I told you to get your own denim shorts.  Those are mine!!!!

The family cat (Renardo) getting in on the action.  Hey Renardo -- next time -- don't puke on my shoes.

Watch out!!!  Crazy Uncle John is up to his old "Is there someone talking in my shoes?" trick again.  Last year his hip snapped out of place and he had to have it replaced.  His new hip is made of metal.  He's like a superman now!!!!

Jimmy Smits doesn't have anything to do with my Thanksgiving or my family.  I just think he doesn't get enough recognition as an actor.  Please, give him another chance.

Here are my two nephews Joe Jr. and Rush.  Be careful.  They'll kick your ass.

This is my cousin Thomas Aquinas (named after Thomas Aquinas).  He loves video games.  And baby goggles.  He also sweats when he eats.

And lastly, I took of photo of myself -- blogging.  Hooray!!!!!

Hope you all had a great break also!!!!  Don't forget to buy your advent calendars.  Remember, hes always checking that list twice.  (Like the capitalist patsy that he is.  Hooray!!!!!!)

attn: vietnam

this is how we take care of hipsters in texas. the sword is always mightier than the pen.

speaking of hipsters, these pics should clearly show how similar eastern/coastal texas is to hollywood.
bakersfield?

pure class.

the ultimate hipster toy (a giant yacht) owned by the ultimate hipster (george straight).  one of the cooler names ive seen on a boat...fact.

so i guess hollywood and rockport, texas are pretty similar.  except for one key issue.  we dont drink crap like PBR down here for one simple reason...we have lonestar, and any other beer is treason.

also, on a side note.  the bird in the following picture has followed me from the mountains of colorado to the desolation of texas.  no bullshit.  he perches outside my window every night now.  he has also managed to infiltrate all of my dreams where he always manages to tie me up to a burning cross and starts digging into my chest, snapping away my ribs in an effort to remove my liver.  i keep telling him that my liver is already tainted.  "you'll get straight drunk off of that you ignoramus," i say.  he just looks at me and spits my liver out to the ground like iron mike with an ear.  "i've already fucking told you skurv.  that's a spleen.  not a liver."
watch your back bird.  i will defeat you one day.

on a final side note attn: Disco.  can you please get someone to sanitize the shower before i get back?  looks like its getting some serious work.

AM I ALIVE...........?

...............no.

bigger and better things await.  good lord man, they swarm like swine.  i think this blog needs a broader broadcasting spectrum.  i will be anywhere from utah, to colorado, maybe a little roswell, new mexico on down to the 3rd coast (the only real coast, mind you) and every where in between.  the road trip will probably end sometime around the austin city limits festival towards the end of september.  if anyone will be there, hit me up.  ill show you how we get down in tejas.  i dont even know if they have internet where i am going but do not fret you heathens.  just stop reading blogs.

hands free is the way to be

hey vietnam, did you not get the memo? get that phone out of your hands. ITS THE LAW.  i dont want to see anybody out there using a cell phone while they drive.  i am not against the idea of road rage with machetes...
...so just keep off the damn phone.

and for all those out there in need of an alternative way to talk while driving, because your life is just so important that people are always in need of hearing your voice and the such, i have tracked down a few styles you can try.  bluetoofs are just so fucking cool.

this first guy puts to rest any concerns of whether or not you will be able to wear your civil war reenactment uniform and use a bluetoof at the same time.  just in case you have to get ahold of general lee to tell him youll be late because your daughter threw up all over your normal costume and you had to track down your back up which you had foolish lent out to your brother-in-law who puts together themed swinger parties.

AND LOOK!  even the biggest whore of all time wears a bluetoof.  what a surprise.  you can tell he is comfortable with objects resting on his ear like so from all his experiences with his uncle trying to stick his dick in davie's ear every night of his youth.  that kinda thing will stick with you.

and of course, you can still bring the thunder like this guy.  no word of whether or not lightening is included in this model but i think the amount thunder in that guys eyes reduces any need for lightening

and finally, you can always just resort to being a keanu reeves look a like and wear this awesome configuration around your neck.  this will help you achieve the "man i want to do business with that guy...but if i do he'll probably end up fucking my wife and beating me down with a samoan war club" type of look.

so there you go people.  bluetoof it up.  don't resort to just living a life that doesn't necesitate constant connection with insignificant entities.  nooooo.  that would be foolish.  instead, just look like a............fool?

I NEED TO GET TO WOODY CREEK ASAP....LIKE A MOTHER FUCKER

some people believe in allah, some find faith in jesus and/or god, some people may not believe in anything.   for me, its Dr. Hunter S. Thompson.  the link will explain further, but if youre like me grab some tissues cause youre about to splooge all over the place.  many documentaries have been made recently about him, the best being Buy the Ticket Take the Ride, but this one seems aimed to top them all.

WHALES AND INVINCIBLE CHEERLEADERS

you can see it in that old creepy fellers eyes.  he, like many, is clearly going over the possibilities that would exist in the opportunity of doing the dirty with an invincible cheerleader.  things could get a little messy.

Here is the main page on ebay.  you can win some pretty awesome stuff like this.

most importantly though would be this auction here.
"You and up to 5 guests will join Hayden Panettiere at a Save the Whales Again! fundraising dinner hosted at the famous Hollywood restaurant Beso, owned by Eva Longoria.
The following week you’ll board Condor Cruises’ Condor Express with 5 of your friends for lunch and a whale watching tour off the coast of Santa Barbara, California, through the Channel Islands, to witness some of the most spectacular whale feeding grounds and have the chance to see the ever-elusive Blue Whale.
The total package also includes hobnobbing over drinks and dinner at Beso, photo opportunities with Hayden, $1000 American Express® gift card and a private whale watching tour with Hayden and Jeff Pantukhoff, world-renowned whale researcher, marine life filmmaker and founder of The Whaleman Foundation."
(of course eva longoria found a way to work herself into this.  lets just hope tony longoria can put that crone out of his consciousness tonight.  GET TO THE FUCKING RIM TONY)
