Lorazepam is in a group of drugs called benzodiazepines (ben-zoe-dye-AZE-eh-peens).Lorazepam affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause anxiety. Lorazepam is used to treat anxiety disorders. Lorazepam may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Before the development of modern science, scientific questions were addressed as

 a part of metaphysics known as "natural philosophy"; the term "science" itself meant "knowledge". The scientific method, however, made natu

ral philosophy an empirical andexperimental activity unlike the rest of philosophy, and by the end of the eighteenth century it had begun to be called "science" in order to distinguish it from

only used in noise reduction systems - an expander is used at the playback end to return

 the original dynamic range.
